Wisconsin Farm Technology Days officials announced April 13, during the FTD board meeting and luncheon, that Portage County will host the 2014 show.
Selection is based on the agriculture in the county, support from within the county, accessibility to visitors and other support services.
"I greatly appreciate counties stepping forward t do this," said FTD Board Chairman Rick Klemme, dean of University of Wisconsin Cooperative Extension.
The county will soon establish an executive committee to manage the show. The secretary of the committee will be Ken Schroeder, Portage County Extension agriculture agent. Later in 2011, the county executive committee will invite applications for a host farm, make a selection and determine the show dates.
Meanwhile, the executive committee for the 2011 FTD in Marathon County reported that preparations for this year's show are in full swing.
"We're looking forward to hosting the show after three years of planning," said Mike Wildek, Marathon County Extension dairy agent. The 2011 show will be held July 12-14 at the Ken and Karen Seehafer farm north of Marshfield.
Outagamie County will host the show in 2012. The 2013 show will be held in Barron County.
