Therese Bergholz left the medical technology field a decade ago to grow grapes and establish a vineyard that now features eight varieties spread across 13 acres. Branches Winery is one stop on the Sip and Savor Driftless Wisconsin Wine and Cheese Trail.
The route will provide an easy-to-navigate, scenic tour through rolling, lush vineyards and grassland meadows, as well as productive crop and agricultural land.

Establishing this wine and cheese trail program highlights and complements the growing appreciation for local food, especially since there are over 130 wineries in the Badger state.
The economic impact of the trail will extend well beyond the 14 participants by bringing in more tourism dollars, note Gene and Therese Bergholz, owners of Branches Winery.
With over a dozen stops to taste and sample premium wines and excellent cheeses, the Sip and Savor Driftless Wisconsin Wine and Cheese Trail will inspire many daylong trips and stay-vacations in the years to come.
